Waters PFAS Workshop

Our co-operation partner Waters invites you to the

Waters PFAS Workshop

Together against PFAS: For a clean future!

where: In the laboratories of Chromicent, Berlin Adlershof

on: 05 September 2024 from 11:00 – 16:00

for: All interested experts in the field of food and environmental testing

The workshop will be offered in German language.

PFAS (per- and polyfluorinated alkyl substances) are synthetically produced organofluorine compounds. Their outstanding chemical and thermal stability opens up a wide range of potential applications. From coated pans and functional clothing to fire-fighting foam and pesticides, PFAS are part of our modern world. However, their stability also makes PFAS “eternal chemicals” that can only be degraded with great effort. Toxicity studies are increasingly showing that the contamination of groundwater, soil and, as a result, food poses a health risk.

Environmental pollution from PFAS is becoming a growing challenge. For example, fixed limit values for drinking water are planned for 2026. Effective and reliable analysis is the basis for the future handling of PFAS.

The Waters PFAS Workshop addresses the challenges and provides a complete overview of the current state of PFAS analysis. Starting with sample preparation, through screening and routine in the laboratory to equipment maintenance, the seminar offers practical solutions and an outlook on future developments.
